High Blood Pressure and Cholesterol Levels
High cholesterol levels along with high blood pressure (BP) levels are associated with the risk of stroke or heart attacks. A cholesterol reading of above 6mmol/L is regarded as high and the balance of HDL to LDL (different cholersterol markers, which can be measured via a simple blood test) is also important. Obtaining a good ratio and reducing overall cholesterol levels can be aided with changes to diet and lifestyle. 120/80 is considered to be the normal range for blood pressure. If BP levels are raised this can lead to a restriction if your arteries, possibly resulting in further health risks such as heart problems. Keeping BP and cholesterol levels low can be helped by diet, supplements or lifestyle factors. There are many 'friendly foods' which may be beneficial, to find out more please contact me.
